THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

Ex 20

• Thou shalt have no other gods before me
• thou shalt not have any graven images made/served/nor bow down before them
• thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
• remember the Sabbath
• honor thy father and mother
• thou shalt not kill
• thou shalt not commit adultery
• thou shalt not steal
• thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor
• thou shalt not covet

Have you ever wondered why God had these rules for us?  Why was it so important that He took Moses up the mount and written them on stone, with His finger, for us?

He reminded the people that it was God who took them out of bondage.  These commandments were for them/us not to remain in bondage.

Before I move forward, I would love to say that Jesus had a few things to say too!

He stated that if a man look upon a woman with lust in his eye that he has already committed adultery.  Or simply, hate is the same as murder.  

Yet, I LOVE Christ’s reaction when the woman was caught in adultery.  What did he do?  He wrote a message in the dirt. Did he reprove her for her sin?  No, He was wise!  He waited until the appropriate time for the answer.  What reply, you might ask?  The one that the accuser couldn’t possibly answer, fulfill, or have the last say to!  “He who is without sin cast the first stone!”  He forgave her.

He forgives us!

I was pondering the commandments and the Lord told me this: The very importance of the commandments is our right to purity. The first part.  In Psalm, David tells us to “love the law, statutes, and commands of the Lord.”  Jesus, Apostle Paul and the others go even further to help us “fulfill” the Word/commands/guide of the Lord.

What did Satan do to break these commandments before they were written for us?

He wanted to be God-  He wanted God’s place.  He coveted God’s highest position.

He dishonored his Father. He murdered.  The spirit of satan went into Cain.  Cain was extremely prideful/jealous/covetous to steal a life/kill a life, and bear false statement to God.

Why is satan so jealous of God’s children?  He tries all he can to disturb us.  His job on earth is to steal/kill/and destroy (us) here on earth. He is jealous! He wants what belongs to God, His children.  So, he does all he can to get into our minds.

(Sin begins in the mind)  He wants to destroy you.  This is his goal.  He wants you to do the opposite of ALL the essence of God.  He does not bring you Peace, or Love, or safety.  No, just the opposite.  His end goal will be this: ignorant people 

with him in hell.

This is NOT what God wants for His children.  Remember, many are called; few are chosen.  The chosen are the MOST BLESSED!  They are the ones who are obedient children, covenant keepers who are set-apart for the goodness of the Lord.  We are the ones who have PEACE and REST on every side!  We are the ones who KNOW GOD, and also, know who our enemy is.  His name is the Devil, and as God’s child, he loses….every time.

The only time the devil wins is if you give him personal invitation to hassle you.  Don’t do that!  Remain IN God.  Draw near to Him.  Get your peace and answers from God!  OBEY Him- and have a covenant of Peace from the Prince of Peace!

It (the essence of God) BELONGS to His people!  Ye are of God, little children!!!!  We are IN Him!!!  We are the righteousness of God IN Christ Jesus!  Yes, us! God’s children.  God’s obedient children.  WALK IN HIM.

Do you Love God?  Then keep his commandments.  Do you love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength???  Do you love His law?  Do you abide by God’s Word (Words) for us?  Do you walk IN Christ Jesus, and LIVE out His Word?  Are you an imitator of God???

You see, the ones who believe “Once saved, always saved” in my opinion are wrong.

The devil is subtle- and wants to worm his way in your heart and in your mind. He wants you to believe that if you sin (purposely) that God will forgive.  You are okay.  But the scripture says it this way: (improvising) So, because Jesus died and forgives… means we can sin, because of grace???  Scripture says: heaven forbid.  In other words, NOOOOO…. No!  God is gracious!  FULL OF GRACE, Yes, but when God’s child PURPOSELY in his heart sins, he made a mistake.  He gave the devil a foothold.  He gave the devil an inch, and the devil took a mile of your life that can’t be given back; save the grace of God.  Repentance means, turning around and walking away from the sin.  Not, doing the same sin over and over again; just because of grace.

Only God knows and cares for the one who does this.  

The better way is to KEEP CHRIST first. Let Him consume your life.  Meditate on His Word.  Live for Him.  Submit to God, and keep the devil on his side of the border.  We are IN/of Christ Jesus, the devil can not cross the border.  He MUST remain on his side.  

Thank you Jesus, for the cross and resurrection!  Thank you for salvation.  And, thank you for the law our Abba wrote with His finger, for us; for us.

There is so much God has to say, good things, in His Word to help us, and show us “who” God is.  And, also, how to recognize this enemy we know named the devil.

Sin comes from him.  Disaster and death too.  But LIFE comes from Jesus Christ, our Light, our Life, our Hope and, our Guide.  In HIM, we live, move and have our being.  Thank you!  Help your children in our obedience to walk a life worthy of our God.

In the end, Lord, you will say to us, “well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Perfect words for a perfect end…eternity with God forever!!!!

Thank you for your 10 commandments, law, statutes and commands for a life of purity IN You, Jesus.  This prayer I pray in Your name, with a grateful heart.
