And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colossians 3:17 KJV
When my kids were young, I tried to plant seeds into their little garden. One of them was this scripture.
I’d tell them, “whatever you do, DO as unto the Lord.” Whatever you hands touch, and, whatever words your mouth speak, do as unto the Lord.
Jesus gave His ALL for us, isn’t it our reasonable service to do unto others as you would have them do to you? To love your neighbor, as you love yourself? All, in the name of God? To walk your BEST walk in life, walking in step with God. Making God proud of His child??? Yes!
Scripture states: “whatever you do”… To me, this means, “everything you do.” If I speak, speak as if I was speaking on behalf of my Father.
My deeds should reflect my Father to a world who needs Him just as much as I.
In addition, scripture states that we need to have a thankful heart. Never forgetting His kindnesses, always remembering His goodnesses toward us.
He gave His all for us, and in return, we can give and do our best for Him.
Father, everything about me is Yours. My life is yours. In fact, my body is not my own, Your Word says. It belongs to you. My mind is Yours, my heart is Yours. My deeds are a reflection of You, my Lord, in Jesus name. Help me as I remember You, and never to forget your new mercies to me every single morning. Your blessings heaped upon me with even more blessings, Lord, I thank You! Let my words reflect the Love You have toward me, as I minister to others. Allow my deeds, be Yours, for I belong to You, Abba.
Help me never to forget to say, “thank you,” Lord. You are a good, good Father, that’s who You are! I love you, Lord, with all my heart, mind, soul and strength.
In Jesus name, I pray with thanksgiving. Amen Jesus.
