THE CROSS

The Cross

Pondering upon the Cross makes me so thankful what Jesus Christ has done for us.

I thought upon the Father turning His head, because He couldn’t look upon His Son, it broke my heart.

Jesus knew what was about to happen to Him when the disciples found Him, sweating so profusely “as drops of blood,” and when He asked the Father to take the bitter cup…  Our Lord, KNEW what the bitter cup contained…bitterness of the worse kind.  So bad, that He knew His Father would turn away.  He knew the price He had to pay for mankind.  He knew that His Father had to look away.  A price He paid for us, with His life.

Innocence.  Purity.  Covered with sin.

I thought about what the Father had to turn away from.  What sin?  Murder, Pride, Adultery, Hate.  The 10 commandments unfulfilled.  The 6 sins that God hates, no 7.  Our pure Savior wore the coat of the molester, the fornicator, the murderer.  His beauty was marred with every atrocious sin possible.  He literally wore the world on His shoulders.  It was bitter, even for Him.  HE DID THIS, all because of LOVE.

Think about it, all sickness’ he took upon His body.

Every stripe His back took was for our illness’ and afflictions.  Every bruise for our iniquities.  Every wound Jesus took for our transgressions.

Yet our Lord, because of LOVE… COVERED MY SIN.  No more sin because of the Cross.  Thank you, Lord.

I am a sinner-Saved, yes, but still a sinner.  I have sinned royally.  Jesus’ love covered my sins, and He forgave me.  He made me pure in the eyes of the Father because of the Cross.

Jesus loved me that much.

Oh sweet Jesus, the world can not contain all You have done for us in it.  Thank you for the Cross, Jesus.  Thank you for every wound You took on my behalf.  Thank you for every stripe and every lash you took upon Your body.  By Your stripes, I am healed.  Thank you.  Every wound was punishment You didn’t deserve.  I deserved it because of my sin.  And YOU paid the price, for me, thank you.  I can never repay You, for all You have done.

Yet, I can be thankful, and follow and worship You, as Savior and Lord of my life.  Abba, please keep Your Holy Spirit with me as I am still in this world.  Protect me by the power of Your name, I pray in Jesus name.  Help others see how KIND and WONDERFUL You are, my Lord. My whole heart praises You.  I will NEVER FORGET Your kindnesses’ toward me.

Abba, I am so sorry You had to turn away from Your Son, because of my sin.  Thank you for forgiving this sinful soul and making me pure in Your eyes.  Thank you for making me white as snow once again (again and again).  You are a good, good, Father, Lord.

Jesus, thank you for the cross, and what You did on our behalf.  Because without You, my soul would be lost.  Without You, I could never see my Father.  Without You, Lord, my Light, I would forever be in darkness.  ((I would get what I deserved, the wages of sin; death))

But because of You, I am SAVED, and REDEEMED!!!  I am pure!!!  I am sin-free.  All I need to do is continue IN You, and imitate who my Lord is.  Continue on…  Doing Your will, which is the will of the Father.

Oh, Lord God.  I love you so.  I do.
